(To the tune of 'Greensleeves')
Away, Away
Come, Come
The stars, the stars
Come, Come
Eric was born in Manhattan, NY on October 21, 1951 to Corinne and the late
Arthur Weiss. He graduated from St. Johns University in Jamaica, New York
with a Bachelors Degree in Hospital Management.
Eric was a paramedic at Franklin General Hospital, New York City for 11
years and worked as a licensed Nursing Assistant at Southern NH Medical
Center in Nashua. He lived in the Nashua area for 12 years before moving up
to Canaan. Most recently Weiss was a technician at Luminescent Systems Inc.
in West Lebanon.
Eric was a man of varied interests: history, model railroading, aviation and
a deep love of music, but even with these interests, he loved two crafts
above all. One was husbanding the Earth and organic gardening. The couple
was just beginning a small self-sustaining farm in Canaan. The second, which
he learned from his grandfather, was making wooden Scandinavian toys. Though
proficient in all woodworking tools, his favorite was the scroll saw and
with it he created fierce and flying dragons, gargoyles, Garden Guardians,
candle holders, delicate holiday ornaments, furniture and so on.
Eric will be remembered as a man of tall stature with a compassionate soul.
He was a man of honor who was loved and respected by many. Eric had a
strong desire to relieve pain and suffering wherever he saw it, and an
uncanny ability to put others at ease.
Eric was the son of the late Arthur Weiss of Valley Stream, Long Island, NY
and is survived by his wife Susan, Mother Corinne Zander and stepfather
George Zander of Hudson, Florida; Brothers Bruce of Ackworth, Georgia, and
Arthur of Merrick, Long Island, NY; stepson Ian Robinson, of Milford, NH;
nieces Laura, Elizabeth and Jacqueline and nephew Matthew Weiss.
Services will be on Thursday, August 24 at the Ricker Funeral Home on 56
School Street, Lebanon, NH. Visiting hours are from 4 to 6 PM. A memorial
service will follow immediately thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations
can be made to the Eric Weiss Memorial Fund care of the Mascoma Bank, PO Box
333, Canaan, NH 03741.
Come away with me
Where the grass grows wild, where the winds blow free
Away, Away
Come away with me
And I'll build you a home in the meadow
There's a wondrous land
For the hopeful heart, for the willing hand
Come, Come
There's a wondrous land
Where I'll build you a home in the meadow
Oh how bright they'll shine
On a world that the Gods must have helped design
The stars, the stars
Oh how bright they'll shine
On that home we will build in the meadow
There's a wondrous land
For the hopeful heart, for the willing hand
Come. Come
There's a wondrous land
Where I'll build you a home in the meadow
