I've found stones to be handy tools in magick, and I use them frequently. Whether it's the amethyst and malachite I carry in my pocket, the jasper under the bed, or the florite in the pillowcase, I've found stones to be good tools.

As you see, any stone can have a variety of sometimes contradictory attributes. The key is to remember that they are just tools... the intent and energy are coming from you. I use these attributes as guidelines, selecting stones that call to me. When the time is right to work magick, either with stones purified with immersion in the elements,(buried in earth, set in running water, passed though fire, and set out in the air) or with stones cleansed by the Purification Ritual of the Four Elements., I envision the intent of the work and impress the stones with the attributes required. The stones are then ready for spell work.
